How to Sync OneDrive

Notice:   

OneDrive – Can be accessed via a browser or the desktop app, this document refers to the desktop app. Used for personal file storage but can also be used to sync SharePoint files to your desktop. 

 

Procedure 

  • Ensure you are logged into OneDrive on your desktop 

    • You should already have documents in your OneDrive folder if you are logged in 

  • Open SharePoint in an internet browser (Chrome, Firefox, Edge) 

  • Navigate to the SharePoint folder you would like to sync with OneDrive 

    • Please only Sync the folders that you really need access to frequently, not an entire library 

  • Click the “Sync” button in the top bar 

    • This will prompt to open OneDrive to begin Sync, click “Open” 

  • Give the program some time to complete the sync 

  • The files from the SharePoint folder will now be available in your OneDrive folder on your desktop
