How to Encrypt PDF files using Adobe Pro

Notice:  Please make sure to have the appropriate Adobe app installed before proceeding

Processing Steps Below:

 

  1. Open Adobe Pro application and choose the PDF you want to encrypt. 
  2. On the top left portion of the screen click on "Tools".
  3. Scroll down till you see "Protect".
  4. Once you clicked on "Protect" you should see the option "Protect Using Password" on the top portion of the screen.
  5. Click on "Protect Using Password" and choose the appropriate settings and click "Apply".
  6.  For more options click on "Advanced Options" on the bottom. 
  7. You'll then see further options to set additional restrictions on the PDF to save the settings made click "Ok".
  8. The document should now be encrypted and can be opened with Adobe and other PDF readers. Upon opening, users will be prompted to type the password you just set.
