How to use the Phish Alert Button

Notice:

The IT Department has embedded the Phish Alert Button in all versions of Outlook so employees can report suspicious emails. The button is in different locations on each version of Outlook. Once you submit a suspected phishing email it will be removed from your Inbox.

 Web Application 

1. Open the suspicious email but DO NOT click on ANYTHING in the email

2. Click on the three dots (...) located on the top right corner of the email next to "Reply" and "Forward" buttons

3. Select the "Phish Alert V2" option 

4. A sidebar will appear. Select "Phish Alert" to submit report. 

 

 

 

Desktop Application 

1. Open the suspicious email but DO NOT click on ANYTHING in the email

2. Click on the three dots (...) located on the top right corner of the email next to "Reply" and "Forward" buttons

3. While you have a suspicious email open, click on the button. A sidebar will pop out on the right:

4. Click on “Phish Alert” to submit the email. You will receive a confirmation message that the email was submitted. If you do not see a confirmation repeat the process from Step 1.

 

 

 

Outlook Mobile Application

1. Open the suspicious email and do not tap on anything in the email
2.  Click on the three dots (...) located under the timestamp on the top right to bring up more options.
3. Tap on the Phish Alert Button:

4. A pop-up window will appear. Tap on “Phish Alert” to submit the email.
