Enabling Closed Captioning During a Live or Recorded Teams Meeting

 Contains: Guidance on how to allow Closed Captioning (CC) during a teams meeting and during playback of meeting recordings

Enabling CC During a Teams Meeting
  1. During the Teams meeting navigate to the three dots (…)
  2. Click “Turn on live Captions”

 

Once it is on, as people speak, the caption appears in the bottom left

 

 

 

Generating CC For a Recorded Meeting

 

  1. Your past Teams recordings can be found on https://web.microsoftstream.com/
  2. Click on the three dots (...) near the bottom

 

2. Click on "Update video details"

 

 

3. On the right side of the screen, check the "Autogenerate Captions," to turn on CC

 

 

4. On the top of the screen click apply 

 

 

5. People who watch the video should now be able to see CC option on the video 

 

Turning on CC For Video Playback
  1. Find the video you want to watch on https://web.microsoftstream.com/ or SharePoint
  2. Click the CC button in the bottom right.
  3. Click Play to view the video with Captioning.
