Notice:  Microsoft Teams will occasionally encounter issues that can be resolved with some minor troubleshooting. This article describes what you should try when Teams isn't working correctly.

Contains:

  • Restarting Microsoft Teams
  • Re-authenticating in to Teams
  • Common Issues
  • Contacting IT

Restarting Teams

  • Teams is designed to remain active at all times so you can receive messages and incoming calls. Closing out of teams and re-opening it will not actually restart the app.
  • To fully close and restart Teams:
    • Right Click on the Teams icon in your taskbar and select "Quit".
    • Re-open teams and see if your issue is resolved.

  • If this does not resolve your issue you can try signing out and back into Teams

Re-authenticating in to Teams

  • Signing out and back into Teams may resolve your issue if restarting did not.
  • To Sign Out
    • Right Click on the Teams icon in your taskbar and select Sign Out

    • Re-open Teams and follow the prompts to sign in with your Highlight account.

Common Issues

  • Common Issues that Restarting or Re-authenticating can resolve:
    • Documents not loading in Teams.
    • Name changes to Teams or Channels not showing up after 24 hours.
    • Phone numbers not appearing in Calendar events created in Teams if you have Audio Conferencing licensing.
    • Teams Calendar events not syncing with Outlook.
    • Teams is stuck or frozen.
